What equipment does PLP use for container and cargo handling?
PLP uses all sorts of larger and smaller specialized terminal equipment designed for efficient, safe, and flexible cargo handling: straddle carriers, loading/unloading macchinery, ramps for railway operations and cross-docking. Our equipment allows us to handle containers, vehicles, general cargo, rail cargo, and other types of shipments within the terminal area.
Does PLP use modern container handling equipment?
Yes. PLP operates modern container handling equipment suitable for 20-foot and 40-foot containers as well as for other forms of cargo. Our terminal equipment supports container movement, yard operations, loading, unloading, and intermodal cargo handling between truck, rail, storage, and customs areas.
What makes PLP’s equipment different from traditional heavy terminal machinery?
PLP has chosen a more flexible and eco-conscious equipment model. Instead of relying only on large, high-fuel-consumption terminal machinery, PLP uses efficient handling equipment designed to reduce operational fuel consumption, improve maneuverability, and support a cleaner terminal environment.
What type of carriers does PLP use for cargo movement?
PLP uses CombiLift Straddle Carriers for container operations. This equipment allows us to move and handle containers and other cargo efficiently within the yard while supporting flexible terminal operations for both truck and rail cargo flows.
Can PLP handle containers, vehicles, and general cargo with the same equipment base?
PLP’s equipment setup is designed for multipurpose terminal operations. Depending on cargo type and operational requirements, PLP can support container handling, vehicle logistics, general cargo movement, rail-related cargo operations, loading, unloading, cross-docking and yard storage.
