Easy Installation of ECORASTER Ground Reinforcement Elements
Fast. Tool-Free. Professional Results.
Installing ECORASTER ground reinforcement elements is quick and straightforward, requiring no heavy machinery and minimal tools. The system’s smart interlocking design allows each element to snap securely into place with light foot pressure, delivering a stable and seamless surface in just a few steps.
Installation Highlights:
✔ Pre-Assembled Grids – Delivered in sheets for efficient handling and faster coverage;
✔ Tool-Free Connection – Elements lock into the safety composite system without special tools;
✔ Flexible Layout – Easily adjustable for curves, slopes, and gradients using matching accessories;
✔ Custom Fill Options – Compatible with gravel, grass, sedum, or paving inserts;
✔ Low Labor Requirements – One team can install up to 80 m² per hour on a properly prepared base.

Installation Step-By-Step
-
Start in One Corner
Begin in one corner of the prepared and leveled base area.
-
Position the First Layer Correctly
Ensure the connecting pins face the laying direction—towards the area you will continue working on.
-
Lay Subsequent Layers
Place the next layer so that its connecting pins align with the already-installed elements. The ECORASTER system is designed for fast interlocking with light foot pressure—no tools required.
-
Use a Stepped Pattern
To maintain a consistent and visually clean grid, lay the elements in a staggered (stepped) pattern, using a guideline for accuracy. This also improves structural strength across the surface.

Adjustment – Cutting ECORASTER Elements to Size
Custom Fit for Any Layout
ECORASTER elements are designed to be easily cut and adjusted to fit any project layout—whether around corners, curves, or obstacles. With the use of standard woodworking tools, you can achieve precise, clean cuts in no time.
Recommended Tools for Cutting:
✔ Jigsaw – Ideal for curved or detailed cuts;
✔ Electric Ripsaw – Efficient for longer, straight cuts;
✔ Hand-Held Circular Saw – Great for quick, straight adjustments;
✔ Cut-Off Saw – Useful for heavy-duty or high-volume trimming.

Filling – The Final Step to a Stable, Durable Surface
Once your ECORASTER system is installed, proper filling ensures optimal performance, durability, and visual appeal. Depending on the ECORASTER type and configuration, follow these simple tips for a professional finish:
✔ ECORASTER E-Series (e.g., E40, E50)
-
Pro Tip: Shorten settling time by overfilling the surface slightly before compacting with a vibrating plate.
-
This ensures a firm, level finish and faster surface stability.
✔ Combination: E50 + Bloxx
-
Important Sequence:
-
Insert the Bloxx paving stones first;
-
Then fill the surrounding E50 elements.
-
-
This method ensures a flush, uniform surface and avoids displacement during compaction.
✔ ECORASTER Bloxx
-
Avoid small cut pieces: Each Bloxx unit should ideally remain larger than 50% of its original size.
-
For small gaps, use E50 elements or stone chips/gravel to bridge and support the surface seamlessly.

Note: Dividing Pre-Assembled ECORASTER Layers
Simple Separation for Flexible Installation
To simplify handling and speed up installation, ECORASTER elements are delivered pre-assembled at the factory. However, if needed, these pre-assembled layers can be easily divided into smaller sections for more precise placement.
How to Divide ECORASTER Layers:
-
Place the Layer:
Position the pre-assembled ECORASTER layer on top of another layer (acting as a support base). -
Apply Foot Pressure:
Use gentle downward pressure with your foot to carefully push the section out of the composite system. -
Mind the Snap Tabs:
Ensure the snap tabs disconnect in the correct direction to avoid damaging the interlocking system.
